By dialing 211 on your phone, you can reach the United Way’s nonemergency hotline and connect with someone who can provide you with guidance and resources for a variety of human services requests. That includes help finding addiction treatment resources in your area. The 211 phone service works in 36 Montana counties, including all of the Central, Western and Southwestern regions. In the Southeastern region, as of 2024, it only works in Yellowstone County. The 211 phone line doesn’t work in the Northwestern region at all. Anywhere you have an internet connection, however, you can go to montana211.org to search online for nonprofit resources to assist with Montana drug problems.

Located in Helena, Boyd Andrew Community Services provides substance abuse disorder assessments, adult outpatient services and some transitional living services. This not-for-profit community service provider can help you understand your options and may refer you to another free or low-cost rehab service in the state if it doesn’t provide the services you need.

The state of Montana funds this intensive inpatient treatment center, which is a program of the Montana DPHHS. The MCDC offers a total of 48 beds, 32 of which are reserved for addiction treatment and withdrawal management. Those beds are split evenly between men and women.
