Mississippi Mental Health and Substance Abuse Hotlines

There are some lists that no US state wants to be on. One of those lists is the ten states with the least statistical access to mental health care. Mississippi is on that list… and its third to last. Only Texas and Georgia have less access per capita, according to Mental Health America. Adding to the matter, according to its own state website, Mississippi has one of the highest rates of opioid prescriptions in the nation. Given that most heroin addicts begin with pill abuse, this is scary news. We want to help. The following hotlines are available to all residents of the Magnolia State, and the last two are available nationally. If you or someone you love needs help, please call whichever hotline is most suitable, and please call today.

Mississippi Department of Mental Health

The state sponsors a free, confidential, and 24/7 hotline for any and all mental health and/or substance abuse needs, and the number is 1-877-210-8513. There is also an adolescent-specific hotline that can be reached at 1-601-713-4357. Furthermore, a list of mental health centers by county can be found here.

National Rehab Hotline

Available around the clock, 365 days a year, the National Rehab Hotline is free and confidential. An accredited specialist will answer after a few short rings and be there to help you through a substance abuse or mental health crisis. Give them a call at 1-866-210-1303 today.
