America has a severe addiction problem, and Ohio is no exception. Substance abuse is among the top health concerns in the state. This year, 12.03% of residents reported illicit drug use sometime during the last month, per the CDC. An overwhelming total of 5,397 residents died from overdoses in 2021 alone. Data is not yet available for last year.
Unfortunately, addiction has a grip not just on Ohio, but on all of America. Fortunately, there is help. Below are three completely free resources for help with substance abuse available to residents of the Buckeye State. Addiction is a disease, and the cure begins with helping yourself. Ohio National Rehab Hotline
Available 24/7, the Ohio Addiction Hotline is free and anonymous for any resident to receive assistance with addiction. Ohio CareLine
The state’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services sponsors a 24/7 helpline available to all residents. Call 800-720-9616 for free and confidential support, or text “4hope” to 741741. You can also visit the website for more info and external links.
MHRB Portage County
