Nearly 2 million Ohioans have a mental health condition, and about a quarter of these received no treatment for it in 2021. Cost was the biggest barrier to receiving care, with nearly 2.4 million Ohio residents in communities that lack access to enough mental health care providers. Without treatment, many people with mental illness face higher rates of incarceration and homelessness.
To keep our society safe and healthy, mental health care and substance abuse support are critical systems. An Ohio addiction hotline is often the first point of contact for someone trying to leave substance abuse in the past, which is why making these contacts available and low-stress is a must.
Several Ohio rehab hotlines are available, offering free services to get you or a loved one the help you need. Ohio rehab hotlines help you find local resources to help manage mental health crises. You can also call an Ohio rehab helpline to get referral services and find out which options have available spaces.
While 911 should always be your first call in an emergency where someone is at immediate risk, when you have the time to think about ongoing treatment and next steps, start with a 24-7, confidential call to a state hotline number. Help is out there and waiting for your call.
