Since 1999, the number of fatal drug overdoses in Nebraska has been rising. In 2017, numbers hit an all-time high, and since then haven’t dwindled much. Unfortunately, methamphetamine seems to be the most widely abused illicit drug in the state, and it’s a deadly one. Add the fact that nearly half of Nebraska residents with a form of mental illness do not receive treatment and we have a serious issue. We want to help.
