    The National Alliance on Mental Illness has a Northside Atlanta office that offers free assistance with mental health issues. If you’re having an acute mental health crisis, you can call the NAMI HelpLine on Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. for immediate assistance. This peer-supported service can provide you with information to tackle your crisis, and it can refer you to local resources that can offer more in-depth and personalized help.
    NAMI also offers a Veterans’ Crisis Line for current or retired members of the U.S. Armed Services living in Atlanta. This hotline connects callers to trained, compassionate counselors from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, many of whom are service members themselves.
    Additionally, the NAMI Northside Atlanta website offers a wealth of information about mental illness and how to support a loved one through the recovery process.
