San Francisco Rehab Hotline

Reaching out to our San Francisco hotline marks a turning point when addiction or mental health feels too heavy to carry alone. Your search today shows courage during what must be a difficult time.
According to NAMI, 50% of lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, with three-quarters developing by age 24. Right here in California, almost 1 in 7 California adults struggles with mental health issues, with 287,000 young Californians with major depression going without any treatment.
The good news is that you’re not alone in this fight. If you or your loved one is facing addiction or mental health challenges, San Francisco has several resources to support residents through recovery and healing.

National Mental Health Resources

  • National Rehab Hotline
The National Rehab Hotline offers round-the-clock assistance for people struggling with substance use or mental health issues. Through our SF helpline, callers can speak with trained counselors who provide confidential support, treatment information and connections to trusted local resources.

  • NAMI
The National Alliance on Mental Illness serves as America’s largest grassroots mental health organization. It educates the public about mental health conditions, advocates for better policies and provides free support groups for families affected by mental illness. NAMI helps connect people with similar experiences through local chapters and programs. The helpline staff offers guidance, answers questions and provides information about available resources.

This agency sits within Health and Human Services and works to make sure you can find help when dealing with mental health or addiction problems. SAMHSA emphasizes that mental health matters just as much as physical health.
Its work includes funding local treatment centers, publishing research on effective practices and running national helplines. It focuses on helping people who struggle with substance use disorders, serious mental illness or both conditions together.
